I’m turning the page! It’s time to teach women to prioritize their health so they can look & feel amazing.
As I sit at my kitchen table writing my Sunday newsletter I have a lot on my mind, the election, our get together with our neighbors later tonight, how to build my coaching business, am I clearly articulating to all of the smart incredible women I know how coaching can help them?
My WFH kitchen table, where all the magic happens.
My guess is that I’m not alone, that you have a lot on your mind too.
It’s that time of year and it’s one of those years, an election year.
First things first, I’ll take this opportunity to tell you to vote. To call your friends and family, especially in swing states and tell them to vote. Make sure everyone you know has a plan to vote: When? How? And I’ll mention, It’s not too late to volunteer to drive people to the polls.
Today I filled my notebook with some awesome ideas I’m looking forward to sharing with all of you about how I can help you feel better and do work you enjoy and how the two are intertwined. As I filled one page, and continued onto the next I thought to myself this really is a beautiful metaphor for what’s going on in politics and for what i want to share with all of you. To turn the page.
And yes I know, I’m stealing from Kamala’s campaign, but I think she would be totally cool with it!
The idea of turning the page is to make a new start after a time of difficulties; To put something behind you and look ahead.
When I got up from the table to stretch I did something weird and pulled my back out. But don’t worry, I’m fine and there is something to learn from that too.
So today, I’m turning the page and I’m inviting you to do that same.
I’m declaring that I can best serve women by teaching them to prioritize their health so they can do their best work and look & feel amazing.
I’m turning the page on holding on to success so tightly.
Starting a new business takes time and there are a lot of challenges and learnings to go with it. But I’m ready and excited to help tons of awesome, smart women prioritize their health so they can learn about how to take care of their changing bodies. I’m excited to teach women about how food can help them with their hot flashes and night sweats. To show women that doing work they enjoy affects how they feel about their whole life.
This week I had a text exchange with one of my recruiting clients who is a spiritual human.
The exchange went like this:
Them: Anything in life we chase, it eludes us.
Think about it.
That’s why I just let it come when I am ready to receive it.
(the) Universe knows when I am ready.
Me: Listen, I’m ready to have a huge thriving business … just in case the universe is listening.
Them: It is. It always is.
Speak to it, trust it and surrender to it.
And know it has happened and not it will happen. There’s a difference. You must be in that state.
Wow, if those aren’t words to live by then what are?
I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of chasing something, success, money, happiness. And chasing something inherently means that you are always running after it and never having it. That, as they said, it’s always eluding you.
That was an ah ha moment for me, and maybe for you too.
So this week, in honor of those awesome words, I’m inviting you to turn the page too. Stop chasing what you want. Ask the universe for it and trust that it will come to you when you are ready to receive it. And live in a state as if it has happened.
Your assignment: Find one thing in your life you are chasing: a promotion, the perfect job, the body you had when you were 30 and surrender to it. Let go of control. Deliberately let go of your attachment to the outcome and see what happens.
Bonus: Notice how letting go of the outcome shifts your perspective.
Oh and back to the pulled muscle in my back, what a reminder to take care of myself, and that maybe hot yoga flow just isn’t for me.
Be well ladies. Have a great week. Go Vote.
P.S. Before you go can you do me a favor, share the love. Pass on my newsletter to other awesome women in your life who will enjoy it. They can sign up for my newsletter on my website.
